PART 2 — THE OLD MAN TOOK THE BOWL

The grandfather stood at the edge of the bowl with both arms extended.
For several seconds, he didn't move.
The young skater folded his arms.
He tried to hide the uncertainty creeping across his face.
One of his friends whispered:
"He's actually going to do it."
Another laughed nervously.
"There's no way."
The grandfather lowered his arms.
Then he shifted his front foot.
The skateboard rolled forward.
Just a few inches.
Then he dropped into the transition.
The board accelerated.
The young skater's smile disappeared.
The old man's knees bent naturally as he carved along the concrete wall.
His body leaned into the curve.
His faded jacket moved with him.
The board climbed higher.
Then higher.
The grandfather shifted his weight and came back down through the transition with complete control.
The wheels hit the flat.
Clean.
Stable.
The crowd erupted.
The young skater stared.
"Wait..."
The grandfather didn't stop.
He carved across the bowl again.
This time, faster.
His movements were smooth and economical.
No wasted motion.
No hesitation.
He rode up the opposite wall and reached the lip.
For one brief moment, the board seemed almost weightless.
Then he dropped back into the bowl.
Perfect landing.
The young skater took a step closer.
"How does he know that?"
His friend shook his head.
"I don't know."
The grandfather continued.
He linked one carve into another, building speed with every transition.
Then he approached the same rail where the young skater had landed earlier.
The young skater's eyes widened.
The grandfather crouched.
His shoulders lowered.
His weight shifted.
Then he launched.
The skateboard rose with him.
For a moment, the old man was completely airborne above the concrete.
He cleared the rail.
Rotated the board beneath his feet.
Then landed smoothly on the other side.
The wheels slammed onto the concrete.
CLACK!
The grandfather absorbed the impact through his knees and immediately continued riding.
The entire skatepark exploded.
People shouted.
Phones appeared everywhere.
The young skater stood completely frozen.
His friends weren't laughing anymore.
One of them slowly lowered his phone.
"Bro..."
The young skater shook his head.
"That's not possible."
The grandfather carved back toward them.
As he passed, he looked toward the young skater.
There was no arrogance in his expression.
Only a quiet smile.
The young skater finally understood.
This wasn't an old man trying to imitate a younger skater.
This was someone returning to something he had mastered decades ago.
But the grandfather wasn't finished.
He dropped lower.
May you like
His speed increased.
And he aimed straight toward the steepest wall of the bowl.
