Thunderous cheers echoed through the Ninja Warrior arena as the stage lights illuminated the massive obstacle course.
Then an unexpected competitor appeared.
An older woman with neatly braided silver hair calmly walked down the entrance ramp, carrying a black gym bag over her shoulder.
She wore a warm smile.
The crowd wore skeptical expressions.
A young man sitting in the stands smirked and shook his head.
"She won't make it past the first few obstacles."
The young woman beside him laughed while recording on her phone.
"She'll never make it to the Warped Wall!"
The people around them chuckled.
Phones pointed toward the course.
Whispers spread throughout the arena.
The older woman ignored every single one.
She walked directly to the starting line without hesitation.
A referee quickly approached her, clearly unsure of what he was seeing.
With a polite smile, he asked,
"Ma'am, are you competing today?"
The older woman smiled right back.
