PART 2: The Silver Locket

CHAPTER 1

The crystal ballroom floated above the city like a jewel suspended in the sky. Everything inside was designed to impress—gold-trimmed columns, glass floors reflecting chandeliers like burning stars, and guests dressed in silence-heavy luxury. But that night, something felt wrong. No one said it out loud. They just noticed the subtle things: conversations dying mid-sentence, smiles fading too quickly, security standing too still. Then—the doors exploded open. A young girl stepped inside. No invitation. No escort. No fear. Her presence didn’t match the room. Simple black dress. Barely any jewelry. Yet somehow, everyone shifted back instinctively, as if she carried weight no one could see. Whispers started immediately. Guest: “Who is she?” Another voice: “She’s not on the list…” Third: “She doesn’t belong here.” But she kept walking. Straight through the crowd. Past frozen champagne glasses. Past shocked eyes. At the center of the room sat a powerful man, surrounded by controlled silence. He didn’t move when she approached—but his eyes narrowed. Man: “You’re in the wrong place.” She stopped. Looked at him for the first time. And quietly answered: Girl: “No. I’m exactly where I need to be.” She placed a silver locket on the marble table. The entire room seemed to stop breathing.
