PART 3: THE SECRET BEHIND THE FOUR MUSICIANS

The standing ovation continued for nearly two full minutes.

The judges struggled to find words.

Finally, one judge leaned toward the microphone.

"Who... are you?"

The oldest grandfather smiled.

"We were once members of the United States National Symphony Youth Orchestra."

The audience gasped.

He continued,

"Life pulled us in different directions."

"Jobs."

"Families."

"Military service."

"We hadn't performed together in over sixty years."

The oldest grandmother looked toward her friends.

Her voice softened.

"We promised each other that before any of us left this world... we'd play together one last time."

The theater fell completely silent.

Audience members wiped away tears.

One judge slowly stood.

"I'm ashamed we judged you before hearing a single note."

Another judge looked toward the quartet.

"Tonight you reminded every person here that talent doesn't grow old."

Then, without hesitation...

A judge slammed the Golden Buzzer.

BOOM!

Golden confetti exploded across the stage.

The four elderly musicians embraced one another as the audience roared.

Only minutes earlier...

They had been four elderly strangers everyone expected to laugh at.

The entire theater was standing for them.
