FULL: D. THE 85-YEAR-OLD BALLET REJECT: MOCKED AT THE ACADEMY

🩰 THE 85-YEAR-OLD BALLET REJECT: MOCKED AT THE ACADEMY (Part 1)

The grand mirrored doors of the city's most prestigious ballet academy slid open, releasing the hum of classical piano music into the marble lobby. Inside, young, elite dancers in sleek black leotards stretched effortlessly along the wooden barres, their hushed giggles echoing off the tall glass mirrors.

Then, the ambient chatter ground to a sudden halt.

Stepping onto the polished hardwood floor was an 85-year-old woman. Her hair was silvered with time, framed by a soft bun, and her posture carried a quiet dignity despite her fragile frame. Clutched tightly against her chest was a pair of pale pink pointe shoes—faded and worn, yet held as if they were sacred treasures.

Standing in the center of the floor, the studio’s head instructor—a tall, handsome young man with an arrogant posture—crossed his arms. He didn't hide his immediate contempt. He towered over her, his eyes cold and unforgiving, as his voice blasted across the silent room:

"What did you say? Registering for a dance class? Look at yourself, how old are you?"

A sudden wave of snickers broke out among the young dancers in the background. Whispering behind their hands, they cast mocking glances at her aged appearance. But the instructor wasn't finished. Stepping directly into her personal space, he jabbed a finger toward the exit:

"We only accept people with a future here, not a mobile nursing home."

The brutal insult echoed against the studio mirrors, freezing the air. The elderly woman felt the weight of every mocking gaze burning into her, but her stance remained unflinching. Her frail, trembling fingers tightened around the satin ribbons of her ballet shoes. Looking straight into his eyes, her voice was soft, steady, and filled with a quiet, undeniable strength:

"But I have a dream."

The instructor paused, sneering in disbelief. He leaned down until his face was just inches from hers, spitting out every word with icy disdain:

"A dream? At your age, your only dream should be preparing for your own funeral."

May you like

He whipped around, throwing his arm out violently toward the front entrance:

"Get out!"
