PART 1 — THE UNEXPECTED AUDITION
The lights of America’s Got Talent swept across the packed theater as thousands of spectators waited for the next audition.
The host walked toward center stage.
Then the entrance doors opened.
An 85-year-old grandmother slowly stepped onto the stage.
She carried a wooden cane and a small handbag. Her silver hair was neatly pulled back, and she looked slightly nervous beneath the bright television lights.
The audience watched with curiosity.
Some smiled.
Others whispered to one another.
The host approached her warmly.
"So, what are you going to perform tonight?"
The grandmother gently held her cane.
"I want to sing my favorite song."
A few people in the audience chuckled.
The host looked surprised.
"Grandma, are you sure you want to perform here?"
The elderly woman simply nodded.
She slowly approached the microphone.
The judges exchanged uncertain looks.
Nobody knew what to expect.
She placed one hand beside the microphone.
Then she closed her eyes.
The theater became quiet.
